Max Thomusseit commits to Pitt. Just saw the news on the front page of intermatwrestle.com.

That is a huge commitment for the University of Pittsburgh. Congratulations to Max and the Graham program!

I thought Max would end up at a bigger program because he had credentials that all the major programs love. That said, it is common for siblings to go to the same school, so this isn't that surprising.

This looks great for the Pitt wrestling program as it appears that they are doing all the right things to convince his older brother, Zac, that it is the place to be. Zac started for the Panthers at 184 pounds this year and had a lot of success.

Everything Max Thomusseit has done points to him becoming a powerful college 197-pounder. He was very impressive in the state championship bout when he beat Nick Mills (who he split one-point matches with during the season) in their final showdown. I don't remember him having any other close matches except his lone loss against Blair Academy's Max Huntley in the Ironman final. He followed that up with a 9-1 record at the Junior Duals en route to a team championship for Ohio.
