I have no doubt about Dustin Schlatter's talent level. But he may be a better freestyler than folk. Too soon to say that he's a clear favorite at 165 although I'd pencil him in as #1 if asked to choose.

165 will definitely be the toughest weight next year. And no, there is absolutely no such thing as a lock or a sure thing. Furthermore, freestyle is indeed different from folkstyle.
With all that said, I believe Schlatter beat Andrew Howe 3 takedowns to 0 at the World Team Trials. Howe has great positioning and probably has the best defense at 165 (outside of Schlatter, of course). Anyway, it's definitely not a sure thing but Bucksman is absolutely right in saying Dustin starts out as the favorite by a long shot.

Minny will have a ton of young talent in the lineup next year. The heavyweight class will have Atticus Disney wrestling off Ben Berhow, which will be interesting. Add Mario Mason and Ryland Geiger, who I like a lot. (Anybody remember him beating Roddy when they were both sophomores? One of the nastiest counters I have ever seen.) They will be dangerous this year, and for a few to come.
Their potential lineup includes...
125: Zach Sanders
133: Jayson Ness
141: Mike Thorn
149: Mario Mason
157: Jake Deitchler
165: Dustin Schlatter
174: Cody Yohn or Scott Glasser
184: Sonny Yohn
197: Ryland Geiger
285: Ben Berhow or Atticus Disney
That is a lot of talent and youth. They have returners in there, too, but I like their youth.

125-165 is quite formidable.
