Discussion Topic: Youth Camps: Where did they go?
Scott Shaw added to this discussion on May 8, 2009
Where are all the local Youth Camps that generally pop up in the summer time? You know, the $50 camp with a bunch of high school coaches or recent successful graduates. I would like to send my 6 year old son to a camp of some kind, but I am not paying $100 or more for a 6 year old's camp. When I was coaching at Hamilton Township we had a summer camp for $25 that included a lot of the successful Central Ohio coaches and Mark Zimmer.
If you know of any camps that fit this description, let me know. I don't coach anymore, so I am a little out of the loop.

I have been thinking about Kent State, but we live in Columbus so it doesn't make much sense financially to make that trip. I am just surprised that more high schools aren't hosting their own camps to make a little extra cash. Parents look for anything for their kids to do in the summer.

Big Walnut will be having a youth camp June 15-18 for $30. If you have any questions, let me know.

Coach Moore, that is exactly what I am talking about. What time of day are you looking at for your camp? We live in South Columbus (about 35-40 minutes) but it would be great to try and work this out. Thank you.
