As the year began I thought they had legitimate prospects for winning the NAIA. 5th is disappointing, as is the absence of Crenshaw and Tripp. This isn't criticism. Just speaking as a fan.

Steve: it's like the novel 1984. One minute Crenshaw was a defending NAIA national champ and Chris Tripp was pinning Logan Brown...and then they were gone from the NDC lineup. No mention of why. You can look up early season stuff on their website and those guys are mentioned prominently. Then they disappeared.
Incidentally, Crenshaw's replacement, Jared King, is very good.
Congrats to NDC. 5th place in their third season is a fine accomplishment.

Chris Tripp had work done on his meniscus, something that has been a lingering problem for the last year or two.
King is, indeed excellent. Remember that he got 3rd at the Ironman last year.

Savage, Pelton, Straughn, and Rini joined Koballa as AA.
I think that a lot of guys will begin looking at Notre Dame College as THE way to go. Simply put, Savage and Rini both wrestle 125, they are both AA. It is that simple.
