JANUARY 15, 2009 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Just 5 team spots remain open in both the Elementary & Middle School All-Star Divisions in the inagural Ohio Tournament of Champions Team Duals, scheduled for April 25, at the Columbus Convention Center, in Columbus, OH.
---We also currently have just 3 spots remaining in the Elementary Community Division and 4 spots open in the Middle School Community Division. Several spots for the High School Divisions still remain open, but we anticipate them being filled quickly, once the High School season is over.
***Any team that notifies us, and confirms their entry, by January 31, will receive a $100 credit on their team entry fee***
We hope to have the final Elementary & Middle School All-Star spots filled by early February and, at this time, preference in filling them is being given to those that are entering a state wide all-star team (or at the very least an all-star team from a major metropolitan area). The team spots will be filled on a first come first served basis.
All participating teams will have five dual meets. In addition, the wrestlers will also have the opportunity to participate in the individual tournament, which is expecting 2700 wrestlers, should they have met proper qualification procedures and registered properly for the event.
Ages/Weights being used for the Elementary and Middle School Divisions are:
Elementary Division: For those wrestlers born in 1997-2004. There will be no restriction on where a wrestler resides to be in this division. There will be a maximum of 12 teams allowed in this division.
Weight classes for the Elementary Division will be: 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 110, 120, 130, 150, 180
Middle School Division: For those wrestlers born in 1994-1996 (wrestlers born in 1997 may compete in this division and may be in the 5th grade). There will be no restriction on where a wrestler resides to be in this division. There will be a maximum of 12 teams allowed in this division.
Weight classes for the Middle School Division will be: 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 110, 115, 120, 126, 132, 140, 148, 160, 180, 230

Since our last forum post/e-mails, of January 15, we have received a lot of response for remaining Elementary and Middle School All-Star Dvisions for the Ohio Tournament of Champions Team Duals. Already, we have 11 states sending teams and have several other states with teams currently pending.
We now have just 2 guaranteed Elementary All-Star spots left and 3 Middle School All-Star spots left (last week it was 5 and 5). Some teams are not currently listed on our site (www.ohiotofc), as we are waiting for a final commitment from them and the spot is being held for them. However, we expect to hear back from those teams fairly soon with confirmation of their team entry.
Spots in the High School Division still remain open, but should be filling up soon, as we have heard form a few more coaches requesting additional information. We also still have spots remaining open in the Elementary Local (3) and Middle School Local (4) Divisions.
If you are planning on entering a team into the TofC Elementary/Middle School Team Duals, I would urge you to contact us ADSAP, to reserve your team's spot.
Also, a reminder that we are planning for 2700 wrestlers to compete in the individual competition, which will immediately follow the completion of the team duals. For those out of state teams, this will give most all of your wrestlers the chance to compete in both a National Dual Meet and National Individual Tournament on the same day - more BANG for your buck!
