He must have injured his heart because he showed none in the Cornell match. The Kent State coach was on the money with his "controversial" comments.

After a lousy performance, it is very easy to say that he sucks and he does not care. Meaning that it is very easy to throw darts from the peanut gallery.
Let's pretend that you are Cody's dad and you see your kid struggling although you know he is doing the best he can at that given time. Do you tell him he sucks and that he has no heart or do you try figure out a way to help him get the most out of himself.
Pinning your hopes and dreams on 20 year old wrestlers is an easy path to frustration.
Cody started out strong at the beginning of the season as he had a lot to prove. He has faded down the stretch. Unfortunately, the DI schedule is brutal and particularly unforgiving to a freshman. He looks mentally and physically tired. Hopefully he will be able to get a second wind otherwise the rest of the season will be particularly brutal.

<beatup> I have become somewhat worried about Cody as he is great wrestler, but we aren't seeing it recently. He doesn't get himself rattled ever, but he was got to be frustrated with his own performance. Is he homesick? Not happy at Ohio State? As a mother I want to have him over for dinner and find out what is he feeling and if he needs anything i hope he gets his fire back also and come turn the corner with some wins to get his confidence back!.

Someone reminded me about John Weakley's record from last year as a first year wrestler. Sometimes we put too much in expectations on a young wrestler and this is D1 wrestling. I have high expectations for the Buckeyes with the great group of wrestlers they have this year, but we aren't Iowa and the coaches will have the guys ready for March. I am sure of that!
