How fun is December 14th shaping up to be???
125, 149, and 197 will all be competitive matches, with some level of national implications as the season progresses, with 133 & 157 possibly being real tussles!
MIZZ possible line-up for that match...
125 Alan Waters (Former AA- 4th)
133 Matt Manley (NQ 1-2)
141 Lavion Mayes
149 Drake Houdashelt (Retuning AA - 5th)
155 Joey Lavallee (NQ 3-2 R12 Lost to guys who got 1st & 3rd)
165 Matt Lemanowicz or Ty Prazma (Both were behind NQ Toal)
174 Mikey England (NQ 0-2)
184 Johnny Eblen
197 J'den Cox (NCAA Champ)
285 Devin Mellon (0-2)

Quote from Michael Rodriguez's post:
|
"I only think time served matters if it is coupled with a personality that has leadership qualities and a person who WANTS to fill the role of team leader. For the record, I think Houdashelt (Missouri) wins it this year at 149...but the top four or five are all right there and Stieber has as good a shot as anyone."

I think I will take Hunter coming off a redshirt!

When the team captains were announced, I was a bit surprised to see that three freshmen were chosen (redshirt freshmen Bo Jordan and Nathan Tomasello and true freshman Kyle Snyder join senior Logan Stieber). Who votes on the captains? Additionally, what does this say about these guys that they were chosen as captains?
Tom Ryan: I am sure many were surprised. We share with the team the attributes we think a captain should reflect. So we lay out the groundwork for the team. Each team member ranks his top 4 picks. The top four vote-getters were chosen. They are culture changers. Their passion pours out of them. Hunter was close to the other four in votes and I believe he continues to show more and more of the leadership quantities we are looking for. He's just simple and quiet. He's stealthy. He's a leader here regardless. There are many others, too, who lead. There are so many committed men here that display great leadership qualities. We are in a great position.
