Discussion Topic: Brands just said they are winning a title this year without uttering a word

Quote from Ethan Moore's post:

"Hank - I understand why he did it, and agree that Assad must be substantially better in the room.
My contention was only that it feels like minimal upside.
Historical context says you do it when you think a guy can win a title (or compete for one).
Assad has 3 losses on the season:
Jones from Grandview (NAIA?)
Broderson from Iowa State (37th on Wrestlestat)
Lujan from NIU (pretty one-sided 4-0 score)
My question would be - if you're going all in, why not bring Eierman out of Oly RS (he ain't making the Olympic team) to replace Murin?
Murin and Wilcke are the same guy; R12 probable with low AA ceiling.
Either way, I hope Brands is right. I'm out on PSU and want anyone but Cael and his disciples lifting the trophy."

Maybe Eierman only agreed to be a Hawk for the Olympic RS, to focus on his growth regardless of the outcome, while preserving that eligibility?

The author of the article reaches the conclusion that, "Assad must be more than just an “insurance policy” as Iowa hopes to win the 2020 team title, he’s a bonafide talent that’s ready to go."
He doesn't get pulled out of redshirt unless he is a lock on AA with upside.
I am looking forward to seeing whether Brands assessment of Assad is on the money as he works with him every day and must see a pattern emerging that indicates he is ready to rock n' rolla.

Assad just beat #5 Venz from Nebraska. But #3 Murin lost to #8 Red and #4 Warner lost to #14 Schultz.
#2 Alex M beat #4 white 4-3 on riding time
Desanto got ridden entire 3 period.
#2 Kemmer got a last second TD to beat Labriola

Which shows just how tough it's going to be to win in Lincoln in the coming weeks, and for that matter in State College, and in Minnesota, and in Iowa - man who made up this schedule? And we don't even wrestle TSUN.
